Dragoș Leordean

DipWSET

He was born and raised in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. At the age of 19, he moved to Manchester, UK, where he began studying for a degree in Genetics. During his second year of studies, he attended a WSET Level 1 course to learn more about wine, a topic he had taken a great deal of interest in since before moving to the UK. His third year of studies he moved to Oxfordshire on a year-long placement, during which he had completed WineMatters’ WSET Level 2 and 3 courses. In 2013, after finishing his degree in Manchester, he was accepted to study for a doctorate degree in Physiology, Anatomy and Genetics at the University of Oxford; in the same year, he started studying for the WSET Diploma with WineMatters, which he successfully completed in 2015. He have also participated in the Oxford-Cambridge Blind Tasting competition in 2016, on the side of the victorious Oxford team.

Favourite wines: Vouvray or German Riesling. He won’t say no to Amarone. Or Champagne.
